Dr. Jessica Sanborn has decided to put her dental career on pause.

Family 1st Dental of Creighton announced last week that Sanborn will leave the practice, as of July 1.

“It has been an absolute pleasure to serve this community for the last four years. Dan, Sammi, Linni and I are so grateful for each of you,” Sanborn said. “We will truly miss the people and the town. It was a tough decision for us to leave since we care so deeply about this community. But, we really feel that God is guiding us to spend more time as a family during these precious years when our girls are young.”

Sanborn’s husband, Dan, is a traveling nurse. The couple is looking to purchase and live in a motor home, renting space from her mother in Lincoln as a home base.

“I will be staying ‘home’ with the girls and home schooling them as we travel with Dan,” she said.

They are hoping for assignments in the southern states during the winter months and a return to Nebraska in the summer.

Another area dentist is also relocating.

Dr. Cristina Brovont, who has been practicing in Family 1st’s Plainview office, plans to join her husband, part time, in his Neligh dental practice.

“As my family grows, I feel that I need to be able to dedicate more time to staying home with my three, soon to be four, boys,” she said.

Family 1st has made arrangements for a new dentist to serve both communities.

“We understand this transition is unexpected, but we want to assure you that we are fully committed to providing quality dental care and will continue to serve your communities,” said Emily Rutledge, who handles marketing and recruiting from the company’s Norfolk office.

Dr. Christina Cambre will reside in Creighton.

“Dr. Cambre is an experienced dentist who has made a commitment to building her life in Creighton with her fiancé, who is originally from Belgium. During the last six years she has built her skills and experience and is eager to begin working alongside both Dr. Sanborn and Dr. Brovont until their departures,” Rutledge said.

The new dentist will begin working with Sanborn and Brovont in June.

“I am looking forward to bringing my skills and experience to Creighton and Plainview. I can’t wait to get involved with the communities and begin to build my life here in the Midwest,” Cambre said. “Wim and I have decided to move here because we value your way of life and feel like this is a community we can really love and raise a family in.”

An open house is planned June 20 to introduce her to the community and bid farewell to Sanborn and Brovont.
