Funeral services for Marlene Hart, 82, of Beemer will be Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 10:30 a.m. at Minnick Funeral Home in West Point.  

Private family interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Creighton. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Beemer United Methodist Church and will continue Wednesday, from 9 a.m. until  time of the service, at Minnick Funeral Home in West Point.

Marlene passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point.

Marlene Elaine (Keonig) Hart was born June 2, 1936, in Lynch to Frank and Mary (Von Rentzell) Koenig. She grew up in Center and graduated from Center High School. She went on to get normal training at Wayne.

On May 5, 1955, she was united in marriage to Milford Dean Hart at the Congregational Church in Center. The couple lived at Creighton, moved to a farm near Coleridge and near Laurel, before moving to a farm near Beemer in 1960. In 1966, the family moved into Beemer.

Marlene worked at the cafe in Beemer, was a cook at the Beemer Public Schools and Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer and also did in-home daycare.

Marlene was a member of the Beemer United Methodist Church, was a Cub Scout leader for several years, and was active at the Beemer Senior Center, where she served on the board. She also belonged to a card club.

Marlene welcomed everyone into her home and she cherished time spent with her family and friends.

Survivors include children, Patty Hart of Omaha, James Hart of Lincoln, Mike and Jenny Hart of Clarkson, Sandra and Frank Peebles of Phoenix, Ariz., Jeff Hart of Lynch and Marsha Hart of Norfolk; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and brother, Larry and Deanna Koenig of Madison.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milford, on Sept. 2, 2011; son, David Hart; granddaughter, Regan Hart; four brothers-in-law; and two sisters-in-law.
